Furnaces, heat pumps and boilers, with ductwork made in our own shop
Gas furnaces, electric heat pumps, gas boilers and zone control, repaired and installed by a Carrier dealer since 1978.
What fails first when the weather turns
Heating rarely quits politely. A gas furnace that short-cycles, lighting and shutting off every few minutes, is usually telling you the airflow or the flame sensing is wrong, and it will keep doing it until a part gives out on the coldest morning of the year. A heat pump that runs auxiliary heat nonstop is either struggling through a defrost cycle that never finishes or has lost capacity somewhere, and the electric strips behind it are quietly spending your money.
The one nobody wants to hear about is a cracked heat exchanger. It is the metal wall between the flame and the air that goes to your rooms, and when it fails the fix is a judgement call about safety, not a repair you talk yourself out of. A technician who will tell you plainly which of these you have is worth more than one who sells you the biggest box.

Furnace, heat pump or boiler, diagnosed before it is sold
Richard Electric works on gas furnaces, electric heat pumps and gas boilers, and the first job is working out which kind of problem you have. A furnace that will not ignite and a heat pump that will not defrost are different conversations, and the answer should come from what the technician finds at your house in Cullman, not from what is on the truck.
Where the house needs it, they set up zone control, with dampers in the ducts so the bedrooms and the living room are not fighting over one thermostat. And the ductwork itself is not an afterthought here: Richard Electric runs a full metal fabrication shop on AL Hwy 157, so duct runs are made and installed by the same company that services the equipment at the end of them.
The team are licensed Carrier Enterprise technicians and Richard Electric has been a Carrier dealer since 1978, but the heating work covers all major brands. Licensed under AL HVAC 07061 and AL Refrigeration 50905.
Heat that is checked before the first cold snap
The cheapest time to find a failing igniter, a weak capacitor or a clogged flue is a mild October afternoon, not a January night when every other furnace in Cullman County is also calling. A fall check under a Richard Electric maintenance agreement is a documented on-site evaluation, with recommendations made without pressure, and plan customers get 10% off parts.
If you are weighing a new install, ask about the extended warranties offered on new installations, and expect the straight answer on lifespan: heating and cooling systems generally last 12 to 15 years, and regular service is what gets one toward the long end of that range. Call the office on (256) 600-0616, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Emergency service calls are taken, and service calls are charged by service area.

Fabricating ductwork in house means the trunk line that reaches your attic was cut, formed and fitted by people who answer the same phone when the system needs a visit. These are jobs from the Richard Electric files.
